kayak?

merlin - 7-29-2012 at 11:52 AM

Well, I sold the boat and, honestly, I am pretty stoked about it. I'll miss her but she went to someone who is going to fish her well and use her as much as possible - that's what boats are for.

Now I'm looking to get back on the water. I'm searching for a Hobie Mirage Outback and thought I should post here before I go all the way to the states. I'm sure someone has one in the garage that they don't use anymore - ready to pass her on?

Gracias!

A $1,900 kayak used by serious fishermen not being used. I was an optimist once. Just got a used Ocean Scrambler for $220 -- refitted with a Ocean Kayak Comfort Pro Deluxe Kayak Seat, paddle holder, 2 recessed rod holders, bungee front/back, about 60 pounds rigged.

At 88 pounds rigged, the Mirage is heavy.... still, it has the Mirage Drive and outstanding stability. Good choice.

Lee, you never know! maybe some divorcee new it would hurt the ex more than anything else so she insisted on having his Sanchita in the divorce.

Well crap, I guess I didn't word it just right - I am happy to BUY it. Not looking for freebies. Just looking to spare myself the trip up to BUY one. Didn't mean for anyone to get all tightened up.

I have a paddle yak with a rod holder. Just my opinion, the mirage drive is the way to go. Anyone have one they would like to SELL please let me know.

ever hear of archie bell and the drells?

Lee - 7-29-2012 at 06:17 PM

Never thought a Mirage would be a freebie. The first post sounded like it would be a purchase. No confusion on your part Merlin!

Anyone else think that?

Don't think I could get a Mirage on my car without help. Getting my Scrambler on my roof alone is about all I can handle.

What is archie bell and the drells? Hope I'm not dating myself.

Hey, Merlin,
I have a 2009 Hobie Adventure Island for sale. I used it about 15 times.
Have not used it for about two years.
I'll be posting it on Craig's list for $2500. New was about $3700 plus tax.

Thanks to Udo and cptkw for being the only dudes who posted a possible reply to Merlin's request.

merlin - 7-30-2012 at 06:55 AM

Yes, thanks for all the help.

captkw - I am in San Juanico.

Udo - thanks for the offer, I really like the sailing yak idea but I'm looking to keep it simple. Most of my fishing will be in the esteros and they are pretty small.

Gracias!
