Cerritos -- what's this mean?

I've responded to the Cerritos email and haven't gotten a response. What is a $20 day pass? Children $10? What are these passes for?

I would imagine it is to keep people from just hanging out around the pool all day, laying on those cool pool bed/lounges without buying anything. I haven't personally been there to check it out lately, but that would be my guess.

Why would anyone pay $20 to use their pool when there is a perfectly good beach that you can use for free. I wouldn't patronize any of the businesses there that are trying to turn the place into Cabo. I'm personally hoping they all fail.

Yep, I feel the same way about the fee. I haven't been there in almost a year and a half. A friend of mine who was there a couple of weeks ago was complaining about the beach being full of yellow foam - sounds like problems there and I personally have no intention of going. Besides it's so sad to see that beautiful beach area deteriorate into what it has become lately.

I would definitely avoid going in the water there after a heavy rain considering that the Los Cerritos Beach Club maintains an open cesspool in the arroyo. What is needed is a good cyclone to cleanse the beach.

Response from Cerritos:

''The Day pass is to have access into the Cerritos Surf Colony's facilities such as pool, jacuzzi and sunbeds.''

Now I get it -- I was thinking Cerritos Surf Colony is the bar at the North end and forgot about the pool and ''that'' is considered CSC too.

$20 to hang at the pool. Wow.

Cerritos,Pescadero and Pastora used to be the BEST baja had to offer. Thank god I got it in the 70s and 80s. I went back in the early 90s and it sucked big time. SAD but hey its to close to L.A.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

That is why some of us care about the "area that shall not be named!" and donate to WiLDCOAST!

you should too. there is a dollar for dollar matching grant right now.....

chippy - 8-4-2012 at 06:32 AM

Area that shall not be named? WTF ? Oh I get it. Its still a secret spot to you................................................................................................................................................... ................................................................................................and the millions of kooks who surf there.

woody with a view - 8-4-2012 at 07:02 AM

yeah, that's the place!

pointdog - 8-4-2012 at 07:11 AM

Good reply, Woody.
I had something else in mind.
Yeah, everything is ruined down here. Don't bother coming down. Nothing to see here folks, move along.
Cerritos is one of the saddest rapes of BSC. But certainly not the only one.

Sad, but true.

I don't go to Baja for services. I go for empty beaches and the rugged beauty. I go to get away from the rat race and enjoy the ocean.

Wait till they pave the East Cape Road! They used to be well kept secrets but now... Not to be too negative but most parts of TS & Pescadero are still pretty nice! Why everybody gave away the location of Pastora I'll never know? Cerritos was an awesome, wide open, sandy point-beach break where we all enjoyed surfing & fishing but there are others but I'm not telling.:cool: Old Guys Rule, verdad?! Tio
