La Policía Estatal Preventiva (PEP or The State Preventive Police) arrested two men wanted in the United States on various charges over the weekend. The arrests occurred separately in Playas de Rosarito and Tijuana. The two alleged criminals are not believed to have any ties to each other.

David Boswell Pratt, a 58 year old who was hiding out in Playas de Rosarito, is wanted for drug trafficking, fraud, and parole violations. Pratt’s city or state of origin was not released.

Jaime Faríaz, a 34 year old who was caught in Tijuana in the Colonia Camino Verde, is wanted for possession of narcotics and parole violations. Faríaz is from San Benito, California.

Communication and information sharing between United States and Mexican police authorities are at an all time high, resulting in multiple and frequent arrests. In the first half of 2012, 55 foreign criminals were apprehended in Baja. Most of those were United States citizens.

The El Mexicano News reported that the two men were handed over to the Procuraduría General de la República (PGR or Attorney General’s Office) and to be extradited to the United States in the care of the U.S. Marshals.
