Baņado en la salsa

Santiago - 8-14-2012 at 06:27 AM

Ordered a different scrambled egg breakfast at Mison Isabel in San Quintin a few days ago and in the description of the dish was "baņado en la salsa". I thought 'baņado' was something in the salsa but could not get anyone to tell me what a baņado was. I ordered it and the dish was very good.
Later, I figured out that this means the item, in this case little chunks for beef was swimming or bathed in the sauce. Do I have this right?

Food and bathrooms don't mix. Not on this forum. You should know better.

Are you referring to the fact, Jorge, that this food looks as though it's already been eaten? :o

Correcto!

It literally means to be bathed, or covered in the sauce. (Term: culinary)

source" Webster's New World Spanish Dictionary.

Best way to learn Spanish! See it, experience it, no English translation at the :light: moment!
