Just out today, hope you enjoy it: http://www.bajabound.com/bajatravel/spanish_missions_of_baja...
There were 27 missions founded in Baja California and 21 founded in Alta California. There were all being established together for Spain. San Diego
was not the first California mission founded, it was the 19th.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soon, a new guide about ALL 48 of California's Spanish Missions that were founded between the tip of Baja and San Francisco Bay, between 1697 and
1834, will be published... I am excited to be working with fellow history buffs Max and Erline on this new book. Max Kurillo was featured in an hour
long special with Huell Howser about the famous El Camino Real bells. Max has books published on the bells and Camino Real, and articles including one
on the Baja mission San Pedro Martir.
EDIT: The new guide is almost ready to be published. See http://oldmissions.com for details.
