This Won't Help Too Much On The Gulf Side...

A CUT & PASTE FROM THE SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE

And now, some genuine relief.

The onshore winds are about to return, driving enough moisture to the coast to bring back the marine layer. That'll cool the coast, where temperatures have been above normal for a couple of weeks. Minor cooling began on Sunday, as a thin layer of clouds formed along the shore. The cooling trend will deepen on Monday and Tuesday, possibly with the help of a strong coastal eddy. The National Weather Service says that by Tuesday daytime highs "will fall to a few degrees below normal" in many areas. Isolated thunderstorms could pop up in the deserts and mountains. But the monsoon won't be as strong as it has been, at least for the first part of this week. And the high humidity that has made it hard to sleep at night in the western parts of the county will ease considerably.
