"Paraiso del Mar" or "Paradise by the Sea" will be the name of the first Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest designed golf course in Mexico. The
ground-breaking ceremony and Founder's party is scheduled for May 9th through the 11th with Arthur Hills and Brian Yoder, senior architect and
partner, in attendance. "I am so excited about this particular piece of property because it has all of the makings for a classic pure golf experience.
The peninsula on which this 1,700-acre tract of land rests could not be more beautiful," said Hills.
The golf course will maximize views of the Sea of Cortez, the Cape of La Paz as well as the wildlife preserve which will run along the course and
create a unique green space through the middle of the property. "After walking the property for the first time together, Arthur said to me, "John, I
want to design a very natural, minimalist links-style course, set into the dunes much like the great courses of Scotland and Long Island," and I knew
we had hired the right architect", said John Fair, partner-CEO of Paraiso del Mar.
This philosophy is in keeping with the overall feel of Paraiso del Mar, which is what the developers call the "simple ingredients of genuine living."
These ingredients are bundled together at Paraiso del Mar, which overlooks the city of La Paz (the City of Peace) on a private peninsula separated by
the cape. The goal was to provide residents with the opportunity to experience Mexico's rich history in this quaint city, while providing them with an
environment from which to enjoy many amenities.
For Luis Cano, partner-chairman of Paraiso del Mar and a seasoned developer in the Baja peninsula who is building his first full-scale development in
his home city of La Paz, it was about finding partners who shared his passion for the city and his dream. Cano said, "Building the first golf course
as part of this one of kind development in my hometown put my reputation on the line. Having Arthur Hills design the course, with his passion and
experience, gives me great pride and confidence that we will have a world class golf course."
Brian Werner and Recro Sports Concepts, S.A. de C.V. of Mexico will manage the golf course and country club and much club management experience to the
project.

they design for plants and grasses that love sea water and use treated effluent for the balance. no big deal. this is going to be one fine
development! and the cool thing is Cano's involvement as a local pro in dev game. a great location and city.
i'll be over it in 4 weeks....can't wait. baja deserves this level of project.
Don't start with me Cap'n

Sewage hasn't been a problem
jrbaja - 10-21-2004 at 10:57 AM
considering there hasn't been any development out there yet.
Just weekend local visitors from La Paz enjoying the clean beaches and wildlife.
The sewage comes with the foreigners who develop it and build golf courses in natural habitats.

i won't debate you here anymore about mexican developments.
your offerings are too boring and repetitive on the subject I can't waste time on it as we'll never agree. You are not a mexican citizen, your
opinions on their business have no more nor less validity than mine do. The market will decide success or failure as it always does. It is clear to me
that you probably lack a level of real world business expertise helpful in thinking objectively through these matters, or at least it doesn't come
through to me in my readings from you on these types of debates. But with that having been said i respect and defend your right in obstreporously
stating your view.

In referance to water for paraiso del mar a large modern drilling rig was spotted heading out there this morning.
