That would be quite a news event here! Guerrero Negro or San Quintin are the closest. Even El Rosario is without a bank or ATM and it is a much larger town.

Haven't been for a year. Just curious thanks

I was there just for a couple hours last month, but had lunch with local resident Mary Ann and part time residents Paulina and Dern... and no mention of any such thing... and as I said, that would be big news. The distance for an armored car to get to/ from a bank may be a reason. However, the place is really dead... as is much of Baja without the typical norteamericano tourists who all are either afraid of Mexico (thank you U.S. press) or broke (thank you U.S. government)!

True True, I usually try to get pesos out of the cajeros and can only pull out so much at a time. Which causes issues sometimes when the banks aren't open. But thanks for the quick feedback.

There are a few places that can take gredit cards, but I don't know about getting extra cash since I have never tried it. The Pemex closest to town can take CC and so can Costa del Sol motel.

Ask your bank to increase your ATM withdraw limit. Mine is set at $2,000/day.

Guerrero Negro is closest if you need to find one after you're there. So plan ahead. Open a second bank account and shift some funds. Withdraw from both at the same time to double your take. It's also nice to have a backup in case you lose or mangle a card or your bank decides you shouldn't have access to your money. Many or most ATM are open outside of bank hours. Functionality and cash may be optional.

another way of getting money in small village is to wire yourself money through western union...most villages has a telegraph office where money is sent. These offices also have those card swipe machines so you can withdraw money from mexican bank accounts...bancomer, banamex, banorte so for people who spend lots of time off the beaten track in baja...you may consider opening a mexican bank account so you have some money available in the account....some banks let you open an account with just a tourist visa but other's require a fm2 or 3. Or what we have done in an emergency is given client money that they paypal us...so find a gringo with paypal and ask him for a favour.

You can send Western Union to yourself online (and p/u as you say). Once you do it a couple times you can get your limit up to $2-3K/month.

Los Pinos, San Quintin is the nearest ATM before reaching El Rosario along Hwy 1. From there, Guerrero Negro is the next location.

When I was in Bahia de los Angeles in 2011, the owner of Costa del Sol hooked me up with a little cash (as a favor) so that I could make it north to El Rosario and later to San Quintin (Los Pinos).
