What ever happend to the old Diamond Eden Hotel in Nopolo, just South of Loreto? Any update on this former Hotel? We stayed there years and years ago when it was an all inclusive resort, including unlimited golf play.

It's been gone for a number of years and I think they are building homes there now.

Last time I stay (camped) at Nopolo it was a beautiful wild lagoon with nobody around for miles. That was about 40 years ago.

We were do impressed that we stayed an extra night, and dug for clams, and snorkeled in the lagoon-----clear and beautiful.

Eden

Eden was the last of the hotels operating on the original El Presidente site. It was demolished a few years back to make room for a big project that has since been cancelled. There have been a number of other deals rumored, but the site remains in limbo as far as I know.

Yes, for a while there was a "clothing optional" section of the property.

Sorry, not quite true.

The last hotel on that site was named Whales Inn. It has not been demolished. Part of it was redone as the sales office for a planned condo development that was to have the JW Marriott brand. Marketing ceased a few years back, but the website is still active (http://liveloreto.com/), and it could conceivably be revived. Next to it in Nopolo is the Loreto Bay development, which is a much bigger story. Homex is developing property next to the Whales Inn lot as part of its Las Villas de Mexico brand, calling it Loreto Baja.
