Considering it was around 7.5 when I moved to Baja 10 years ago that's not too bad around 2.5 increase in all that time.

And 545 pesos a liter for extra in March of 1988! @ 2245 to the dollar. And 1.45 pesos per liter for Pemex Cien in 1964 @ 12.49 to the dollar.

keep it down......were coming soon!

David K - 9-2-2012 at 07:14 PM

It is coming down, unless Dah-veed's station was off from the rest... In July, the standard price at Pemex south of the border zone was 10.05 pesos per liter... 4 centavos higher!

At today's exchange rate, 13.319, it comes up to 2.845 a gallon.

Cheap. I filled up in Tecate before coming home. Even gave my son a lesson on Mex gas vs. US gas and KM vs. Miles. ;)

Isn't it great to get 100% gasoline, ethynol free!

All the low price does for us is average out the high prices when traveling through CA:light:. I would go no matter the price:yes:

Extracted money from ATM in Vizcaino 09/02/2012, counted the money went online adding up debit + non Wells Fargo ATM fee = 12.997 pesos for the dollar. Yes, my calculations included the 27.55 Bancomer BBVA ATM fee. 12.997 net.

I took out 7000 peso's, cheched what was taken from my bank account, 525.61 (which would account for all fees), makes the exchange 13.3179. This was in the middle of last week. I keep a pretty close watch and in the past two and a half weeks it has not moved very much. This was through a Sandtander ATM and they seem to give the better rates.

Happy Trails

San Felipe $10.14 on Sunday

Do you recall the exchange rate that station gave? 13.00:1, 13.50:1, etc.?

Edit: Tipo de Cambio

Hahahahahahahahaha sort of...

The "southside" gasolinera in Vizcaino, screwed up on the 1st. And it was a first for me. Someone set all the Magna pumps at 10.01 instead of where they should have been set (at 10.10). When I came back on Monday, the price on the dispensers had been corrected. However, the pump that gave me 20.00 liters on Saturday HAND SQUEEZED the 20 liters in and sure as hell, did not fill the tank from the mark between the 3/4's and F. Like it has 300 other times that I filled the tank. And yes I have a 35 ohm; 10 watt .10% precision resistor that calibrates gauges on this model car to EXACTLY 1/2 tank. The needle was a full width below the F mark, and when I returned to Vizcaino I asked for 20 liters with the tank showing LESS than what it did at that 1st station. But I used the station on the NORTH side of the highway, and guess what, the vehicle filled with 18.2 liters. E CAVEAT EMPTOR

By the way I had exited the car and verified the 10.01 price eyeball to pump, a foot away.

The Jesus Maria station had an odd figure for the price last July... it was cheaper than all the others stations in Baja... I gave the figures in my trip report... it was just a fluke, like what you found in Vizcaino... the rest of the peninsula south of the border region was 10.05 in July.
