I think I'm with dt on this one. Not knocking the fish, it's a damn good one. But a 100lb wahoo is really huge animal.

aguachico - 9-6-2012 at 07:19 AM

Ya, ok. A longtime LR fisherman looked at it and said the length is good for 100#'s but it's a skinny-skinny, maybe 40k's. Ya know chismus, the kilos increase from the scale to launch and back to Joaquins for drinks.

Anyways, until I talk to Dave about the true weight, it's not that important.

What is is that Dave set out to scount the offshore waters of La Bocana last week. The water is looking good, but LB doesn't have the resources to play everyday offshore at 1gallon per mile to locate pelagics.

He did and this catch is good for both LB and Asuncion.

saludos and tight lines

WaHOOOO!!!

Iflyfishwithmytipup!

shari - 9-6-2012 at 12:43 PM

lots of pelagics close in now here in Asuncion....an amigo caught YT, dorado and hooked a marlin only 5 miles out this morning....yeah baby!

acadist - 9-6-2012 at 04:17 PM

Nice HOO! I know I am dreaming but I sure hope the tuna are there in 5 WEEKS:lol:

BajaBlanca - 9-6-2012 at 05:51 PM

the boys told me 109 pounds is what they calculated for that wahoo but I can only repeat what they tell me. I am sure Dave will be able to write once he is done fishing fishing fishing !

they have been having a blast - everyone is going out fishing now - dorado and YT are being caught and released - and some brought home to eat, of course !

the co-op has really taken over the whole kit and caboodle with sports fishing, so all now have to buy $5 biosphere bracelets and account for all fish caught and get checked for fishing licenses .... took them a while to get organized but it looks like they are on the ball now.

another change is that the co-operative boat has to be back around 2 pm.

the number to call for boat reservations 615 156-0018 or 615 156-0019 and the person to talk to is Giovanni Romero - 9 - 6 pm.

EDIT TO CHANGE THE WEIGHT TO 85, since that is what was posted on bd !

Mateo-Feo - 9-8-2012 at 07:25 AM

Saw the post on BD and it was claimed to be around 85lb's. A no joke big F'in Hoo, Dave puts his time in down there so he deserves it. I think I might be planning another trip.
