For shore, Krocodiles, twin tail scampys in white, red and root beer, big hammer (or equivalent) swim baits, various colors. For trolling the Rapala

XRap 20 and 30's......Blu mac, Grn mac and the spotted minnow are $ down here.
Croc's from 1 oz for the beach to 5 oz for YoYoing. Salas 6X heavy jigs..blu/wht, fried egg and blu/chrome will all work. Cedar plugs
blk/purple,natural.
Plastics as described...anything around 4 1/2"s in the browns, greens w/ orange or a orange belly for calicos.
Keep it simple tho.......I seem to buy all kinds of new stuff, but just fish the same things as they work...

No worries Acadist...the warm water sticks around all winter and into February we are still getting yellowtail and the water is warm enough for

I only mentioned lures as that was the topic of the question but small, light wire bait hooks, swivels and 1/2 oz sliding sinkers should be in your
box for shore fishing on the pacific. As boe mentioned above, "Gulp" 2" sand worms and small 2" whip tail grubs are supposed to be good but I haven't
had a lot of success with them. As with anything you get better with experience and I haven't had the patience to learn the tricks, I usually use sand
crabs.
I was beach fishing in Asuncion last week catching smallish yellowfin croakers on Krocks but could see big corbina feeding in the shallow water at
high tide on sand crabs. I tried a sand worm for a while with no joy and switched to sand crabs. They were pretty small so I threaded 2 or 3 at a time
on the hook. It didn't take long to get the party started. I caught 3 really nice corbina and my friend caught a huge spotfin croaker which he

Corbina are delicious. They're better tasting than yellowfin croakers in my opinion.
The corbina will take those Gulp seaworms very well.
