Via Santa Rosalia ferry

Thinking of passing on Tecate for a change this year and crossing at Nogales and taking the ferry to Santa Rosalia. Looks like they show three different crossings at Nogales. Any advise about Nogales ?

I don't know about the Santa Rosalia Ferry personally, but did some research for a friend wanting to use it.

Here is the link.

It's best to cross at the Mariposa crossing to avoid the downtown Nogales, Sonora traffic. It's a very easy crossing. Just take the Mariposa Road (SR 189) exit from I-19 several miles before entering Nogales, and head towards the border. Don't stop until you get to Km 21 (about 21 km south of the border), and that may not even be necessary unless you require a visa or vehicle import paperwork. There are three toll stops between Nogales and Guaymas (you can avoid the one on the Magdalena bypass by going through this picturesque town if you have time), but none are expensive and they accept dollars, though not at the best exchange rate. The road is good and about 95% of the distance is divided highway all the way to Guaymas. The toughest part is through Hermosillo because there is some construction now, but just follow the signs to Guaymas. There are many links with info on this route... Enjoy the ferry ride.

Just the sort of info I knew a Nomad would have. Many thanks.
