We have a wood frame house that needs insulating. Anyone know if we can buy or order fiberglass insulation in Baja.

Home Depot carries Corning.

From practical experience I found that rigid closed cell insulation foam panels work better, way better per inch of insulation than fiberglass padding. I did find this type of insulation in Michoacan, so it must be available in one of the larger cities. But it wasn't common, nor commonly used. Putting 3" in the overhead, 2" in the walls, and clear polyethylene sheeting over window glass would really help in the winter, and of course remove the window stuff for the summer. Some Infrared readings here in the last few days without insulation at 4:00PM

Concrete pad free of sunlight for 4+ hours (89F)
Interior wall on shady side of house 92F
Interior wall on sunny side of house 104F
Overhead 108F

Large rock outside of house free of sunlight for 4+ hours 86F

Owens Corning’s Foamular polystyrene insulation is an energy star product.....and a Green Approved by the National Association of Home Builders. We used this product on several projects of ours. One should be able to order it through the Home depot at the "Contractor's Desk".

The payoff is fantastic......especially for use in Baja. When applying...make sure to use seam tape!

It's available here, but I'm not sure HD carries it. I know who does however.
Oddly enough, here they call it FOM [foam].
