In Rosarito, close to the Rosarito Beach Hotel. It is on the same (ocean) side of the street, a very rustic looking two-story building and you enter by walking across a bridge over the fish pond.

Order the lobster "al vapor" which means steamed. They will be sweet and delicious.

We had lunch there last week and the lobster was wonderful.

splash too, across the street from tampanco has the same great food as their original restaurant, certainly not the same ambiance but a nice place with great service

Viva Chef Johnny at Medio Camino, The Half Way House.

I've seen a lot of people sit down to a table that had spiny lobster and go into long discussions about which tastes better -- Pacific or Atlantic lobster.

While they argue I eat theirs.

Thanks to all..I will pass this on.....as for the half way house they don't ever seem to have much business. I remember that place being just about the only place between Rosartio and Ensenada in the old days to eat. Had lot's of great times there on surf trips back in the day....

Stayed at Los Gaviotis Rosartio recently, a guy we talked to
went to P Nuevo, about 1 1/2 mi. so of Gaviotis,
said he bought 20 lobsters for $40 dollars, needless
to say he said they were small? Season, size limit,
not sure that is adhered to, I think some stuff is
flown in from Cedros Isle

Most of it comes from Chile in the off-season. (The lobsters look like they have green chicken pox.

Original Splash just 10.5 miles from Las Gaviotas by far the better place to eat lobster. Have had it there about 6 times and never disappointed and since it is only $19 dollars for 20 ounces of lobster you may get three or four tails depends on weight. Then you get rice, beans, tortillas of corn or flour your choice. The chips and salsa are great too while you wait, may I also suggest a bowl of clam chowder or lobster bisque both are soooooo good. I have tried all of the others mentioned here but my choice is Splash.

Now, you got me hungry Terry for lobster,LOL. See you next year as I move back into the States October 1st before heading back in May next year to Las Gaviotas. Take Care & Travel Safe----- "No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

3-4 tails at 20 oz total weight are certainly undersized and aren't healthy to the fishery, where ever it is. I would ask for one 20 oz. tail or eat something else. Just my 2 cents.

Ken

You guys are getting me hungry!!!
