Misc. Baja photos

tripledigitken - 9-21-2012 at 08:47 PM

I have been editing some older photos I have of Baja. Some of them have been posted here as B and W's, which now I have processed in color. If you do any photo editing you pickup new techniques and the software is always being updated too. As a consequence you find yourself processing the same files over again with newer techniques. Hey, it keeps me busy in retirement, when I'm home.

El Requeson lagoon at high tide

fish camp at El Requeson (previous posted as BW)

boojum (also previously posted as BW)

This was taken at Catavina near the Virgen Shrine. It was a flat image taken on a cloudy day and I had never done anything with it. I processed it as BW and decided to add a texture layer. I know some won't like the technique, but different strokes... (The texture used is a photo of a stucco wall in Balboa park.)

Where is Requeson Lagoon?

tripledigitken - 9-22-2012 at 09:13 AM

Baquito,

Just saw the post, and that you located ER. It is 26 miles south of Mulege, for others that may not know, just around the bend to the south from Buenaventura.

Thanks for the comments on the photos.

Thanks Matt!

I have been using Adobe Bridge to catalog my photos, then open in Adobe Camera Raw to do the raw conversion and some initial processing. I then complete the processing in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

My B/W conversions are mostly done with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.

Just recently I have shifted to Lightroom 4 to both catalog my photos and process. The processing in LR in faster than CS5, but doesn't handle all tasks, probably over 80% though. Will see if I am a LR believer over the next 2 months or so.
