Shari's camp at Asuncion. I'm trying to decide if I should stay here and weather the storm or try to get to Loreto / La Paz in the next day or two.David K - 9-25-2012 at 08:06 AM
Shari will make a party of any storm... but if you have a time limit and need to get going, best to do it now... You can easily make it to Loreto in a
day from Bahia Asuncion. If you stay there, you can help Dah-veed (DavidE) save his vegetable garden from the storm, yes?WideAngleWandering - 9-25-2012 at 09:37 AM

If there's enough bribery involved. Beer, tequila, dancing girls ...David K - 9-25-2012 at 09:50 AM

Thanks. If you click through to Flickr you can see my notes and if you click on the "Taken with a Sony NEX-5" text on the top right you can see the
settings stored by the camera. I was using a manual lens so the camera can't record the focal length or aperture so I'm going by memory on that.
Everything is shot RAW and converted using UFRaw and edited in the GIMP.
Taken facing west from Punta Willard at Papa Fernandez beach camp.
Sony NEX-5, Canon FD 24mm/f2.8 (35mm equivalent ~50mm), ISO 1600, 30 seconds @ f2.8-f4, no dark frame subtraction or long-exposure noise reduction.
It worked...so some more

I'm somewhat of a bird freak and Alfonsina's is a super place to photograph them.

Yeah man, like the bigger sized photos.....shows way more detail. Thank for posting.WideAngleWandering - 10-5-2012 at 07:42 AM
You can click through to Flickr to see all the resolutions & lightbox for presentation. I size them down to 640 for Nomad to keep the page width
from going crazy.David K - 10-5-2012 at 08:40 AM
Bonanza Bucko has beautiful photos... but he forgot to re-size them on Photobucket when he uploaded... they are 1,023 pixels wide! Nomad max. width is
800 pixels wide. and 640 is nice!
Before uploading to photobucket click the upload options first (see the blue text) and select a reduced size to upload onto Photobucket... then paste
the images here... and us on standard monitors won't need to scroll off to the right to see the entire photo or read text that is also stretched when
you post over-sized photos.
Again Bucko's and Wide's photos are great... but Bucko's stretches the page because they are too big to fit in the Nomad frame. Please u2u me if I can
help you... I also have posted the how to many times if you search.
David- buy a bigger screen
thebajarunner - 10-5-2012 at 08:50 AM
Those pix, in that format, are awesome!!!!
Doug needs to change the rules.
Come on over, Doug,
you gotta admit those are much better than resized!!!WideAngleWandering - 10-5-2012 at 09:51 AM
Physical screen size only matters so much (and for those of us with laptops there's no fix). The real problem is when mixing images & text - a
wide image will cause lines of text to run out to the width of the image, leading to long lines that are hard to read.
The style sheets on this site could be changed so that images don't extend the size of the text box but the best answer is to embed smaller versions
that link to larger ones. Best of both worlds
