Have to admit that I scratched my head when the Villa Group announced this project. They have been quite successful throughout Mexico. But this Ensenada Blanca project was the first time they were the trailblazer.

Promotions such as this are not uncommon. But, as Ligui noted, they are usually a sign of desperation.

Given the world economy, I really don't envision Loreto as becoming a world class destination in my lifetime. There are simply too many other resorts that offer much more within and without their ground.

I personally love Loreto. But, not as a mega resort town. That said, the very fact that the Villas project is so far out of town, just adds to their problem.

I'm guessing that they are trying to entice folks to put down $25,000+ to buy, and commit to $1,000+ per year for maintenance fees. Yikes!

Anyone thinking about taking advantage of this offer ought to realize that it will be a high pressure sales opportunity for their staff. And, I have to admit that I feel for those folks who are working on a commission-only basis to try and close sales.

Like it or not, Cabo has a much greater attraction for the average person looking for an annual vacation, simply because it offers so much to do and see. Loreto is Loreto. way more laid-back, and for that reason, just not as attractive in the overall marketplace.

stayed a couple nites here in june. The place is beautiful. Food is extremely overpriced (if your not on the inclusive package). We were doing a 10 day baja trip, and I knew that my wife and kids would love this as a change to the simple accomodations we are used to in Baja. Their pitchman in loreto gave me 2 nights and $100 food credit for $150, with the 90min pitch at the resort on morning one. The pitch day started with them also buying the breakfast buffet (20 bucs a head). The food at this place is great. At the pitch they did start at the 30K range..... but we were quickly down below 10k..... we found a package that would work for my family, I was offering 5K and they were at 8K. We walked away and they did not bother us for the rest of our stay. The on site mini mart was reasonable on costs and all rooms had kitchens and plates pans ware, etc. Loreto is my fav place ib Baja... this place kind of seems strange there. Oh yea, I think they have some kind of De-sal system there and we took showers with treated ocean water.... it didnt work very good.
