Tecate Border

MICK - 10-25-2004 at 06:45 AM

Yesterday coming back across the border at Tecate we were in line when a blue suburban came up a side street and cut in line. The policeman rode his bike over and told them to get out and they did. At the next block just befor e the last turn to the border someone else cut in line and another plocieman rode up and removed him. As he did a white Toyota PU cut in front of the truck ahead of us. Just as the toyota made the turn headed for the border the policeman came back and the trucl ahead of us stopped him and told him that the truck had cut in line. The Policeman went up to him and made him back down the street and get out of line. I thought it was great to see these people get pulled out. The Police were very friendly as we drove by them and just doing there job. I know that the line is not well maeked but I'm sure some of those people knew what they were doing. The moral is get in line and wait your turn. We were only in line about 30 min's. at 4:00 on a Sunday. Thats not to bad.
Plus we were coming back from a great weekend in Baja.

When the downtown Mexicali crossing was much busier, I saw them send the cut-ins back to the end of the line. A little releif for those of us that had been in line for 40-60 min. or more.

They really Ought to try that with all the motorcyclists who think they are privileged also!!Why are they allowed to ride right up to front of lines in front of everyone else?

Because it just takes a minute

to check them out. I know many commuters who use motorcycles just for that reason. Some even keep work trucks north of the border and they use the bikes to get across quickly.
There is always the Sentri pass for those that want to feel superior to the masses as well as not wait in line.:light:
Cutting cars, no way, motorcycles, esta bien.

It also has been legal for motorcycles to "split lanes" with autos on the Calif freeways and streets.
