Really major changes to residence visas for Mexico come into force at the end of October, from the regulations published yesterday (Friday).

For non property owners wishing to stay longer than 180-days it all depends on the explicit minimum income requirement. Lots of unsubstantiated hyperbole that it has been raised to the eqvt of $1,325.00 / yr.

More unfounded hot air is that migracion will have the option to ask people wishing an FMM or temporary resident visa for proof of the ability to stay. Cash, credit card or VISA ATM.

Glad I got this over with years ago as an inmigrado.

Thanks for info. It will be interesting to find out whether or not FM3/FM2 counts towards the 4 years since I am on second year of inmgrante status
