This is truly a tragedy, 2 little girls without a dad. Also 26 agents killed in past 10 years.

When Ever anyone Dies unnessarily it's not good. But when anyone that chooses a job that put's them in harms way it's a real possibility and goes with the territory For a civil servant who Kills a unarmed person for any reason it's wrong.

I agree... and the same goes for people who knowingly associate with drug dealers. They deliberately put themselves in harm's way.

If by "unarmed", you're referring to the shooting victim in Chula Vista, I believe an automobile is considered a deadly weapon in several capacities.

Just sayin'... you can't have it both ways.

J.P. - 10-3-2012 at 05:49 PM

Yes a automobile could be considered a deadly weapon. if it was aimad at anyone if it was trying to leave maybe not.

We agree again, JP... but you forgot to add "maybe" before "maybe not".

"Ramirez said the Border Patrol “is quick to justify the actions of their agents but slow to hold their agents accountable. There is a growing pattern of abuse by the U.S. Border Patrol and that pattern needs to stop.”

Alvarado’s killing was the 15th by the Border Patrol in the past two years along the U.S.-Mexico border, he said. Of those, she was the first woman killed and the third U.S. citizen slain by a Border Patrol agent, he said".

The part that scares me is there is to many different law divisions you have to deal with it used to be pretty clear cut State, County and City. But with this Homeland Security B.S. they seem to have no Limits.:?::?:

Bob, those agencies existed BEFORE 9-11 and before the DHS was established. All the enabling legislation did was to consolidate various existing federal agencies under the DHS umbrella.

It is very scary. I have never been more afraid of U.S. law enforcement in all it's forms than I am today.

And unfortunately Department of Homeland Security are becoming ever more entrenched in an "us against them" attitude. And the scary thing...we citizens are "them".

BajaBlanca - 10-3-2012 at 06:33 PM

very said. RIP Nicholas.

US Customs service was renamed Customs and Border Protection, they wear dark blue uniforms and their shoulder patch/federal seal says "Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection"............the Border patrol is also under the "Homeland Security Umbrella"

I doubt it. These poor guys probably just looked good for it. Remember this case

They paint any picture they want, hopefully we are able to see reality.

They obviously didn't since the FBI investigators now say these agents shot each other. But Mexico is quite accommodating finding a couple of fall-guys.

Interesting at the top of this thread that Fox News and some Republican Congressmen were blaming Obama. :?:

Fall guys?

If the men arrested were engaged in the shoot-out, they are culpable, regardless of who shot who.

This thread was based on a NYTimes article... not Fox news.
