That would be great for a vast majority of trips typically taken on a moto. And 40hp is pretty respectable for a sub-300 lb. bike. I want one.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The California Energy Commission has given Zero Motorcycles a $1.8 million grant to quadruple its manufacturing capacity in
California. Additional matching funding brings the total project allotment to more than $3.6 million.
“This project offers a unique opportunity to keep the competitive advantage of California’s skilled labor force and create dozens of additional jobs
during both the implementation and volume manufacturing stages of the project,” said Richard Walker, CEO of Zero Motorcycles. “This grant is a
milestone for us because it allows Zero to dramatically increase the scale of our assembly line to meet customer demand.”
“This investment in Zero Motorcycles will help to put cleaner vehicles on the road, reduce petroleum use, improve our air quality and create jobs in
California,” said the state's energy commissioner, Carla Peterman.

An electric motorcycle might help a little with seeing wildlife, but they still make a lot of noise, and in all my years of riding, I have found very
little time to be looking around for animals while I'm playing in the dirt. After we stop, maybe, but while riding...it would be equivalent to
'texting'. Some people never get out of 2nd. gear, they might have time to safely be birdwatching, I can't speak to that.
Zero's off road credentials can be validated by one of their executives - Scott Harden, multi time Baja 1000 and 500 winner. Scott has been with Zero

Maybe a little less than 400 years since my last fill-up on my bike set me back $28 here in San Diego.
