After doing our loop from San Felipe to Punta San Francisquita, cutting over to Asuncion and north along the Pacific, we traditionally stopped at Don
Eddy's for a cheap spot with our pop up camper and a last wicked seafood pig out before heading to Tecate and the border. We have missed a trip last
year and I heard on this site that Don Eddy's restaurent had burned down. Is it back up? Can you still pull into one of his little slips for the
night? How about the Old Mill?
In the past we have tried to find the other nearby spots - Jardines, and it seems another one that I can't recall. Never could find them in the maze
of dirt roads in that area.
Would love some recommendations/updates/info/attacks on my character, etc!
Also, is Campo Beluga in Gonzaga Bay still happening?
Thanks in advance!windgrrl - 10-8-2012 at 06:53 PM
... a bit of a hike off the highway at Vicente Guerrero...down a dirt road, but nothing our 27' RV trailer couldn't manage. Quiet and safe. Very nice

Next to Jardines there is a camp ground that seems popular. It is also walking distance to a great resurant & bar. The hotel is a great place to
stay as well, should you not want to camp. We were at Don Eddies last month it looked like some of it was open, ie the bar not sure on camping.
Jardines is the next turn off from the Old Mill turn off. Down to the 1st intersection make a left big sign just look for the oasis, that is Jardines.windgrrl - 10-8-2012 at 07:52 PM
Los Olivos RV Park is the place next to Jardine's in San Quintin. Clean and quiet. Water is slightly brackish. Jardines is a 5 minutes walk away.tripledigitken - 10-8-2012 at 08:02 PM
The Old Mill restaurant is now called Molino Viejo and as of early this year serves very good food.
The Old Mill Motel was closed at that time but I believe is open now, someone will correct me if I am wrong on this.

The Old Mill hotel is open during the busy summer season, but you may want to check ahead of time. Jim was there in August when we had a large group
down that way. The restaurant next door is now owned by the Los Pinos group and serves up good food and drinks.Susana - 10-8-2012 at 09:16 PM
Don Eddie's is open right now. Hotel, RV park, restaurant and bar.redhilltown - 10-8-2012 at 11:06 PM
Just back from the staying at the Old Mill and fishing with Captain Juan for some Yellowfin...it is indeed open. Don Eddie's is also open. Jim put
up a fence around the Old Mill when he closed for a few months and the fence is still there (add your voice to those who thinks it is time for him to
tear it down!).BajaBlanca - 10-9-2012 at 09:05 AM
someone needs to post a map of how to get to Jardines. It is so worth it!Humboldt Chris and Robin - 10-9-2012 at 10:47 AM
Thanks for all that! We have tried to find Jardines, and we will make a better effort this trip given the reviews we hve seen, and stay at Los
Olivios. Glad to know Eddie is back up and running!!! That was one of the places we stayed on our first trip to Baja many years ago!!windgrrl - 10-9-2012 at 11:44 AM

Click on the link in the quote above for directions to Los Olivos/Jardines (GPS coords., too, see cut and paste from link below):
Directions
pullthroughsm
To reach Los Olivos RV/Recreation Park heading south:
Turn west off highway 1, after leaving Lazaro Card##as (south of San Quintin). Only a short distance south of the Federal Police station and the next
exit after the Old Mill turn-off.
This is between Km 1 and Km 2 markers where our sign and that of Jardines Baja Restaurant/Hotel are.
Follow the road west for one mile until you get to the T.
Turn left and the entrance will be on your right almost immediately.
