We were going to walk across the border at San Ysidro this Sunday and get tourist visas in preparation for spending the winter in BCS and then walk
into TJ and check things out.
But, now that walking across has changed to the east side is that possible? I assume the immigration office is still on the west side near the
secondary inspection area.
Can you still get tourist visas when walking across? Anybody know for sure one way or the other?

Yes, SFandH:
You can walk across the pedestrian bridge or the turnstiles. The INM office is still there.
AND...they now accept payments in cash.
You don't have to pay at the small bank a few doors down.
