Road and fuel reports after the storm

Since people are starting to ask....and travel, it would be nice to consolidate road and fuel reports in one place.

bajainsider reported part of Hwy 1 near St. Rosalia damaged. Had to enlist navy to recover cable from arroyo to restore internet

There is quite a bit of roadwork going on just north of town on the grade heading towards San Ignacio. I wonder if some of that washed out??

Ah ha
That explains no internet in BCS yesterday.

I just had a guy call me who left San Ignacio this morning.

8 hours to get to Mulege.

Lots of stuff out all up and down.

Now he just left Loreto and is sweating the Ligui bridge.

And then the road from Insurgentes to Lopez Mateos is overrun with water just after the turn off to Lopez, so we'll see if he gets through.

But if you're Canadian and mule headed - I guess you can get through.

From what I read in Nomad posts and what I heard on amateur radio today the road is pretty messed up between Santa Rosalia and Loreto with fuel short in a few places. We had planned to head to GN today then Loreto tomorrow but have backed it up a few days. Is the road cut at marker KM81 just south of Nopolo near Vista Al Mar? I can't remember the KM markers. Any major outages north of Loreto?

Vista Del Mar is around KM 10 south of Loreto.
Nopolo is around KM 7 south of Loreto.

My friend got past the Ligui bridge yesterday afternoon and all the way to Insurgentes, but can't get down the road going out to Lopez Mateos. Water was over his head lights. He said the water in the vados was incredible around Insurgentes. Might be a day or 2 for that one area on the Lopez road to go down enough to get through - is what they are saying.

But he did get all the way from San Ignacio to Insurgentes yesterday - no problem.

And all the power is on here, so fuel in the Pemexes.

Problem of fuel is not going to be electricity but availability from the fuel depot and barges in Santa Rosalia.

KM81

Yep, I know where those places are on the road, just wondering where KM81 was. Down by rattlesnake beach, Rancho Notri?? Bonnie is boo-hooing because she planned to be at Vista Al Mar this afternoon for clams. OK on power to the Pemex stations as long as the fuel tankers can get to them.
