Yesterday after noon the engineer Jorge Hank Rhon met with several political figures and community leaders of California, to show them what a Tijuana citizen is.

According to the newspaper Frontera, among the guests were the Mayor of Baldwin Park, Manuel Lozano, Mayor of West Covina, Mike Touhey, the president of the Bar Association of Los Angeles County, Felipe Plascencia, the Education Committee member from the Community College of Los Angeles, Kelly Candaele, and representatives of various congressmen and senators from California.

The meeting with the political figures and leaders began at Tijuana Innovadora, which the purpose was to show them the real side of the city of Tijuana, a safer city which is far from what other sources of media from other countries show.

Afterwards the guests headed to a dinner that was organized by Hank Rhon.

One of the topics that were spoken of was on how to reduce the waiting time for when a person crosses the border of Mexico and the United States, which is a primary factor to being able to grow the economy on both regions.

Hank highlighted that this was not a pre-campaign type of event, which coincidently at the beginning of this past week he gave an interview to a national Mexican daily journal “ El Universal”, where he confirmed that he would be seeking to be the candidate for the political party “PRI”, for the election for governor of Baja California.

Jorge Hank Rhon was the Mayor of Tijuana previously from 2003-2006, who then ran for governor of Baja California, and lost to Jose Guadalupe Millán who had triumphed in state elections.
