Fall back if you are in Mexico

bajajudy - 10-28-2012 at 07:40 AM

We went off daylight savings time last night
Change your clocks.:dudette:

Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears border towns aren't changing til Nov 4?

bajajudy - 10-28-2012 at 10:37 AM

As with so many things here, it is a little confusing
Here is a link that should help
http://www.timetemperature.com/tzmx/mexico_dst.shtml

CortezBlue - 10-28-2012 at 06:22 PM

Sorry but that link is even more confusing
In one spot it says Mexicali changes Nov 4 another says Ocy 28

I will speak for Mexicali as that is where I cross into San felipe and will confirm it is Nov 4

San felipe is part of Mexicali, so it will also change Nov 4 as well

Some things never change. Like time, in Sonora.

The Border Towns Are Synchronized with the U.S.

Gypsy Jan - 10-28-2012 at 11:31 PM

When the U.S. changed the "Fall Back" date it wreaked havoc with the border crossing community going north to work, schools, etc.

So the Mexican parliament passed a law to synchronize the border time with the U.S.

If you live in northern Baja, the time will change (fall back) one hour next Saturday/Sunday.

This feeble attempt to manipulate time is one big pain in the burro!

The numbers don't match the solar cycles and we've had several teens hit in the early morning, one 14 year old killed, on their way to school in the dark. Whoever began this facade should be made to run through the streets shouting an apology, IMHO.

Does anybody really know what time it is.............

Just like Wikipedia, you can find any answer you like on the web- even if they are dead wrong.

The times have been synched to the US for at least a year.

I know that last year we were headed down at changeover time and the various websites had all sorts of info,
some was even correct

Sort of like the stopped clock- it is dead on correct twice a day.

PS Anybody who walks or rides a bicycle along the roadway in the dark should have some type reflective clothing or device and/or use a bicycle flashing taillight..........especially teens whose current fashons include dressing in all black.
