Does anyone know of a Veterinarian in Tijuana who does Microchip clinics for dogs? Thanks for the info!Mulegena - 10-31-2012 at 10:58 PM
How about a call to the veterinary clinic to which you took your little dog not long ago? Perhaps they could refer you.Mula - 11-1-2012 at 07:04 AM
I've been to lots and lots of vet clinics in BCS - not BC . . . and can't even find one with a reader for a chip.
Good luck in Norte.Ken Cooke - 11-1-2012 at 07:08 PM

why chip ??..In baja proper there very few readers and I know,, without any debate,,no debate..keep a sure eye on your dog and all will be good !!

The local dog catcher walked down my street, and ticketed every residence with dogs. The following are required;
Mandatory Local Dog License
Mandatory Vaccination of Dogs (can be done anywhere)
Mandatory Microchipping
Total if non-compliant = $621.00 !
Depending on how much $$ I must spend, I will get the work done here in Riverside County or south of the border.
Ken,,,, maybe for both us !! BAJA !!

I always expect everything to cost $400 to $700 - with Tijuana, I at least have a 'Plan B' when the prices skyrocket.Zapotec - 11-1-2012 at 10:19 PM
On the free road from Rosarito to TJ, Rodeo Clinic does microchips fr dogs.David K - 11-1-2012 at 10:26 PM
Ken, did you see Ateo's posting about Oceanside costing $14? The Humane Society is just 4 miles west of my house and you could hang here and chill,
watch a Baja flick, or soak in the hot tub... pretend it's Shell Island... I even have shells here so it will be almost like it! LOL
Good day !!

Yes, I read the same post. I also have to pay $?? for two dogs to be vaccinated as well. That for sure will cost more than $14. Licensing will be
approx $16/dog. Just trying to keep down my overhead.

...in more ways than one.
Amazed that you have no option but to chip your dogs,
and the fine if the mandate is not followed!
The fine!!
Geez-o!!!Ken Cooke - 11-2-2012 at 07:54 PM
No, I do have an option - payment of $200 to the Department of Animal Services.Mulegena - 11-2-2012 at 09:43 PM

Betcha that $200 is a fine,
and you still have to chip your dog-- a California doggie fix-it ticket.
