I have received an email from a group living in the Maneadero area who just received an AED (Austomatic External Defibrillator) as a donation. The
group leader has expressed an interest in donating the AED to a local group or community. I have a meeting with the leader this coming Monday,
November 5th. As I have mentioned previously, because the response time is so critical for the use of an AED, it is impractical to expect La Joya
Fire Station with this equipment to respond to calls in Maneadero, La Bufadora, anywhere where the response time would take longer than 10 minutes. I
suggest each community, such as La Bufadora, Rancho Packard, Lomas del Mar, and Puerto Escondido have their own equipment available readily. Have a
24 hour chain of command so the AED can be accessed upon demand. Any interested parties, please email me. Each community should have a chain of
command also for oxygen and first aid as well, until ambulances can arrive.
