I think it's 'donde es mi propino'. They use esta for a state of being. Esta would be used for 'he is cold' or 'he is sad'.
Others can agree or disagree.

Spanish is anything but easy. Just like English, there are variations that sometimes don't make sense. Practice, practice, practice...
