You can't go wrong. Those multi million dollar beach houses in Los Barriles are a great investment because in the summer you can fish, in the winter you can watch the kiteboarders race.

Half a million at Lighthouse Point puts you in walking distance from the Roosterfish Capital of the World.

I have a lot at Lighthouse that I'd part with. Third row back from the beach, phase 1. Any decent major league outfielder could throw a ball in the water from there....

Why buy? So many good renting deals out "there" now.

With the aging of America, there are lots of people who are getting too old to stay in Mexico away from their health insurance and the US emergency infrastructure. Some of these people built homes before 1995 and literally paid 25-50% or less than what similar houses are being offered at. And so they rent pretty cheap, especially if they are for sale.

In many cases, you can't build a place as cheap as some of these houses will be let go at. So, if you're gonna buy you just need to make some lowball offers on properties that have sat on the market for a while.

We sold high in the CA market..........but bought high in San Carlos. It was only a lot and we built the most basic of structure(s), so we aren't heavily invested. We shoulda rented, really...............but we had lots of cash.

Crazy 40 and 50 year olds with cash and no jobs..........impulsive lot, those.

I have some friends that only rent houses that are for sale over here. They have moved exactly ONCE in five years now. They live in a tri level mansion RIGHT ON THE OCEAN. 1200.00US/month including utilities/Direct TV, etc. No FM3, no bank trust, no serious home repairs.

How long would it take to equal buying and building in the Lighthouse Point area at 1200/month? Possibly longer than you have on this earth, maybe??????? And there are houses over here that are a third of that rent.

I guess I'd add another to the infamous Three F's edict. If it Falls in value, rent it.

Hook makes a good point! Over here in Todos Santos, house sitters on beautiful properties get paid to house sit! The Western Onion is full of people looking to house sit so that tells me the word is out. Think I'll sell my place and move up to a pool on the3 beach!;) Tio

Rent in Mexico, property will go down more, soon. I was in El Sargento area in 2007, a lot with a view was $250,000, now a lot with a house and a view is $70,000 glad I didn't buy.

OK I'll bite - what are the other two "F"s?:?:

Floats or flys are the only other two I can mention on this site.

I must me pretty stupid. I now OWN three of the four F's. :?:

Lighthouse estates... cold north wind all winter and hot south wind all summer. Nice spot though.

Several good realtors in town, all of which have the mexican version of MLS. Baja Properties, Coldwell Banker, Homes and Land of Baja. Other good ones too, I just know these people.
