He has been delivering such genuine well-wishes and thanks to the people of Mexico this month. Very sincere goodbye messages (despedidas) to the many, many diverse folk who compose this beautiful country called Mexico.

He good work in his tenure as Presidente de Los Estados Unidos de Mexico is acknowledged by most all of his countrymen and he will be remembered as a fine man and an honest and sincere leader.

Muchas gracias, Senor Calderon!

Just yesterday it was announced that Felipe Calderon will walk away from the Mexican presidency seat with a pension of 225,000 pesos a month (18k USD), protection from the military for him and his family among many other privileges

I hope that he gets protection BY the military, but don't know how that will work when he's in the USA.
PS: maybe he can checkout Obama's records while he's there.

I try to keep up on Mex politics , Calderon does seem
to be likeable. Former Mex Pres Carlos Salinas also
former Harvard guy, along with our GW Bush, MBA
from Harvard. In the past Mex Pres leaving office
would always be surrounded by the speculation
they had stashed a few million $ in Switzerland,
almost as a rite of passage,
haven't heard this about Calderon. The tone of
the new Mex Pres, I believe his name is Nieto,
seems to be less confrontational with the cartels

Salinas took so much he had to leave the country when he left office. Headed for Ireland.

Lopez-Portillo was lecturing at Harvard, and elected to the board of the Wall Street Journal/ Dow etc.

Then, they started digging and digging and pretty soon they had to slide him off the stage and give him a quick non-ceremonial burial.

Red faces all around.

Stay tuned....
