Very Nice!!! Makes me feel good as it is raining so so hard here.

Russ, great work as usual. I use Picture it to level my slanting horizons -- it will do it by degrees instead of cropping. Quick and easy.

shari - 11-30-2012 at 08:37 AM

wow...you nailed that moon this time Russ...good on ya! those slanted horizons make me a tad seasick...i love how the photo program in Picasa has an easy straighten tool.

Russ - 11-30-2012 at 08:52 AM

Funny about the slant! Shows I may get up early but I'm really not functioning on a level plain. I Photo make it easy to make the correction too.

Russ, I can never get tired of your photos! Did you take these with your new Nikon camera? Love the moon shot! You must have used a tripod for that one, no?

motoged - 11-30-2012 at 06:12 PM

Moon shots....as the moon reflects sunlight, it can be shot at 1/60 or 1/125th of a second....no need for tripod.

Folks who take time lapse or slower than 1/60th will get a circle/dot of light with no definition :light:

Great photogrqaphs, Amigo. I had been waiting for this Moon and it's beautiful nite skies! Lot's of pacific high tides and am full tides for the surfers and beach/dog plqyers! Now we're waiting for a Big Swell out of our NORTE! Muchas gracias! To

Most new cameras allow you to place a grid in the viewfinder/
LCD which makes lining up horizons easy in camera. Some even give you a horizon level. Finding them in the menus isn't always easy to do though.

Nice shots.

Unreal.... Nikon P510? Or somthing like that?

Russ - 12-1-2012 at 06:06 AM

Yes that's it. Nikon P510 I put my big Nikon away now. Definitely not the quality but it really fits my level of snap shooter well. Can switch to movie mode too.
