Stop it. You are making me alternately drool and tear up as I miss my 1978 FJ-40!

Not me !!

Had two of them in costa rico !!! a hell of a old school 6 banger but nothing else worth noteing ..lousy ride, brakes,no suspinsion, hotter that hell in the tropics..and top heavey !! no thanks..I love toys but myself wished I would have shipped 2 other units from SFO all the way to Limon,CR

If I was was gonna be offroad full time as in never on a gravel or paved road maybe..but then again Range Rover or Unimoog !! also works.....K&T...PS..oops...just caught about being a diesel.....still off road only and diesel would be for me,,much better than a gas unit...seen some of toys,,nissan,,mercedes 4+4 diesel units from over sea and not avabile in the states in baja and the owners are travaling arond the world or close too !!!! danm Euro's.. with5weeks a year off & the americans are lucky to get 5 days a yr...USA diesels optains are curtailed !!! K&T

Clean looking, but a four-banger diesel?
Climbing sand dunes would be out of the question, huh?
