Is that YOUR house ? wonderful decorations !

Bruce R Leech - 12-7-2012 at 08:26 AM

this is a Privet house in Ensenada, they have done this for 25 years.

Can't compete with those outside decorations

durrelllrobert - 12-7-2012 at 09:29 AM

Anyway, since you asked, here is pic of this years Christmas tree and a partial view of my wifes Christmas village. Need a panarama camera to get whole thing in shoot since it is 16 ft wide and has 3 tiers; the bottom one is 3 ft deep, the middle 2 ft deep and the top is 1 ft deep.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL BNs (even those OT guys)

Merry Christmas to all and thanks for the photos Bruce!

Retireded - 12-7-2012 at 11:26 AM

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all. It's nice to not need to worry about being PC. That was the only thing i did not like about my last job. Seemed like the PC police were everywhere.

Bruce
We dont know each other but welcome back.
I followed you when you used to post about Mulege.

I'm also glad to see you are using the same dictionary.
Everytime I mis-spell something I argue it is correct because I used the Bruce Leech 14th Ed. Dictionary.
Truly meant in good hummer.:spingrin:

Merry Xmas Rob!

Alan - 12-14-2012 at 04:41 PM

I feel for you. I got 8 inches of the darn stuff last night and it just started coming down again with a vengence.

Because W-2's aren't required to be sent out until January 31st I won't be able to get back south until February. I guess it is better to file my taxes before I leave instead of coming home early just to file.

The lifts open for the season at 9:00 AM. According to this there should be three feet of fresh between now and then.:bounce:

Advertising

mojo_norte - 12-21-2012 at 07:28 PM

Just curious- what controls the advertising banner at the top of this website?- ie: if I had done an online inquiry on another website and then went to the Baja Nomad website there might be an advertisement banner at the top for the prior website . Does Baja Nomad make money on this or is it just a cookies thing? - just curious - not trying to be controversial or obnoxious .

This is not the place to ask (there is a questions, comments, issues forum)... just fyi, BajaBound.com is a major sponsor of the Baja Nomad Forums and they have the banner with the moving SUV on it.

Happy Holidays!

Perry

Heard you folks got hit hard

Not quite as bad here

vgabndo - 12-23-2012 at 11:59 AM

Hey Tim, Happy Holidays. I've seen it a LOT worse, but at 69 pitching a ton of snow with a shovel in the morning can result in long afternoon naps in the glow of the wood stove.

Things must be a little screwed-up in town, because the Director of Public Works lives next door, and at 11:00 AM our street is STILL not plowed!

Our national guard usually gets a chance to practice with their equipment loading center berms into dump trucks and hauling the snow onto empty lots, but they are in Afghanistan protecting us from bin Laden!:lol::lol:

That's why I sold my house at Tahoe.

vgabndo - 12-23-2012 at 09:15 PM

It has been beautiful and quiet. I dug out and went to the market today and needed a "flatlander detector". I-5 gets lots of traffic, chemicals, and is very straight. Folks get here, pull off the freeway, and try to drive on our snow floor. The intersections closest to the on ramps are worst, because of people polishing the surface by spinning the hell out of their tires!

Today the problem was people parking in the middle of the street to put-on chains. It was like their simple logistics had to look like an emergency for everyone else! :lol:

18 runs groomed with 24" of fresh in the last 24 hours at the Ski Park, PC, winds under 10 mph, and good viz in the morning!

vgabndo - 12-24-2012 at 03:41 PM

I did the best I could Bob, I'm old, and it was 29 degrees and I could only get two women to take off their tops. The lady in green thought you must be a little crude, but she took off her ear muffs anyway.

How's this for a Xmas Eve lift line?

Old Pharts like me get season's passes for $99. I was home by 1:00 PM ...knackered and happy!

Happy family days you all.......

Another "'Twas the Night before Christmas"

jeans - 12-25-2012 at 11:50 AM

If this has already been posted this year (2012), my apologies.
This was posted by Bernie a few years ago - author unknown
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
La Víspera de Navidad
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the casa,
Not a creature was stirring -- Caramba! Que pasa?
Los niños were tucked away in their camas,
Some in long underwear, some in pajamas,
After hanging the stockings with mucho cuidado
In hopes that old Santa would feel obligado
To bring all children, both buenos and malos,
A nice batch of dulces and other regalos.
Outside in the yard there arose such a grito
that I jumped to my feet like a fightened cabrito.
I ran to the window and looked out afuera,
And who in the world do you think that it era?
Saint Nick in a sleigh and a big red sombrero
came dashing along like a crazy bombero.
And pulling his sleigh instead of venados
were eight little burros approaching volados.
I watched as they came, and this quaint little hombre
was shouting and whistling and calling by nombre:
"Ay Pancho, ay Pepe, ay Chucho, ay Checo,
Ay Chato, ay Chico, Pedrito, y Beto!"
Then standing erect with his hands on his pecho
He flew to the top of our very own techo.
With his round little belly like a bowl of jalea,
He struggled to squeeze down our old chiminea,
Then huffing and puffing at last in our sala,
With soot smeared all over his red suit de gala,
He filled all the stockings with lovely regalos --
For none of the niños had been very malos.
Then chuckling aloud, seeming very contento,
He turned like a flash and was gone like the viento.
And I heard him exclaim, and this is verdad,
Merry Christmas to all and Feliz Navidad!
DENNIS - 12-25-2012 at 12:01 PM
Thanks, Mindy.
I hope Nena hasn't forgotten it's her day to bring us the WeWeChu story.
Where's WeWeChu?
Natalie Ann - 12-25-2012 at 10:49 PM
omigoodness Dennis.... The Weeweechu lived in the right side of my brain and was one of the many things that seem to have disappeared.:rolleyes: Fortunately we have a search feature here. Thank you so very much for reminding me, for certainly it is not Christmas without....
The Weeweechu
One beautiful December evening Pedro and his girlfriend Rosita were sitting in the sand in Baja. It was so romantic with a full moon, Pedro said, "Mamacita, let's play weeweechu."
"Oh not now, Pedro. Let's just look at the moon," said Rosita.
"Oh c'mon baby. Let's you 'n me play weeweechu. I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.
"But I wanta just hold your hand and watch the moon," said Rosita.
"Please corozoncita, just once play weeweechu with me right here."
Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK. This one time we'll play weeweechu.
Pedro grabbed his guitar, began to strum it, and they both sang....
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas.
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas.
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
