bajadock - 12-13-2012 at 12:43 PM

Quarter inch of rain on one hour in Punta Banda cloud. Hoping for more. The weather station is at neighbor's here in Puerto Escondido at 850 feet a.s.l.

Bajatripper - 12-13-2012 at 01:16 PM

Rain is what I missed the most while living the last decade in La Paz. People here in Washington just don't understand why it still cheers me up to be living in it now full-time. But I'm sure I'll tire of it soon enough, that, and the cold. Of course, our "arroyos" are full-time rivers up in this neck of the woods, so cars don't usually get washed away by the unexpected flash flood.

windgrrl - 12-13-2012 at 02:14 PM

Steady rain past hour on the East Cape.

DENNIS - 12-13-2012 at 03:57 PM

Raining here all day, lite to heavy. It's bringing a lot of mud down the streets in Cantu and piling up at the bottom over the La Buf road. Every year it's the same.

You'd think they'd eventually run out of mud.

Considering the snakepit that is Cantu, one can only wish that to be true.

tiotomasbcs - 12-13-2012 at 04:10 PM

We awakened to gray & silver skies swirling overhead. Sprinkles early and now a steady rain! Had business in La Paz and at approx San Pedro it started to pour. Big puddles forming and crazy drivers throwing sheets of water on each other.Hijole! eebmike shows a Pineapple flow of clouds embedded with rain heading right at us. Baja Norte's rain is from a low out of Alaska. The sound of rain on the palapa is soothing . Enjoy. Tio

Russ - 12-13-2012 at 04:32 PM

It has been a really screwy day here the wind has been all over the place. We just had a sprinkle about a half hour ago Everything has dried off now.

BajaOkie - 12-13-2012 at 04:42 PM

Drove from Mulege to La Paz today.

Very light rain started as I passed Gasapasa (had to say it) in Loreto. Rained off and on all the way over to Cuidad Constitucion, and got thru that town without seeing a single police officer. Then from the Punta Conejo turn off into La Paz rain all the way. It stopped for about a half hour but is now coming down lightly again. Some streets have an inch or two of water covering them but everyone appears to be getting thru without any problems.

Currently, no rain, but the sky is really dark so it's just a matter of time.
Radio says there was an earthquake off Catalina last night. 6. something. I missed it.

bajajudy - 12-14-2012 at 07:41 AM

Looks like rain again here this morning but it seems to be getting a little lighter.
No wind
Never went above 68 yesterday.

Very beautiful indeed. Hope to get up your way in late March.

El Jefe - 12-14-2012 at 01:59 PM

The east cape road to Zacatitos and beyond took a beating. We got three inches at our house. Last evening coming home from town we got stranded in a downpour. Had to bang on Lou's gate and ask to spend the night. Of course they welcomed us with open arms. There was no way we were going to try to navigate the dirt road in the dark with water streaming across it at every vado.
This morning we made our way out to the casa very slowly. But hey, I hear the grader is headed out from town. Marry Christmas!!
