A little bit of a walk to the malecon but plenty of $5 taxi's around or do like I do and get a car...lots of places outside of tourist area to go see
anyways.
There's a laundry across the street from it that is easier to see then the place itself...look for that.
When you walk up to the entry, there's an old sort of scary looking guy who lives next door and stands right by the door...he keeps repeating
something in his scary voice which makes you keep an eye on him...it's the combination to the cypher lock on the door your standing in front of. The
same combination you will eventually be told to use to enter whenever you need.

changed quite a bit since the last time I did a thorough look-around, with quite a few places I had been unaware existed. Thought I'd get some BN

Bugambilias, used to be Gardenias, costs more than it used to, but the pool is great for families, and the rooms are spacious. The restaurant was not

This place looks interesting. It's on the malecon, across the street from Hotel Perla. It looks brighter and cleaner than it did a few years ago.

Here is one more. A friend who traveled to La Paz with a group of women for a protesta stayed there and loved it. Her pictures on her facebook page
were great, and she highly recommends it. Again, we haven't stayed there.

The Marina Hotel is a good choice with lots of secure parking if you are towing a boat/trailer, or not.

I was previously aware of the Marina and Lunasol, but I did NOT know about the Oasis. Looks like it's a place that targets business travelers more

Hotel Marina is a good place and there are only a few rooms with king bed the rest are two queens. They go for about $60 dollars a night if you
negotiate with them. The restaurant is good for all meals if you don't go into town and safe to walk around on the marina dock area looking at all
the yachts that are really nice to look at. They also have a couple of other places to eat there outside of the Hotel. It costs about $8 dollars to
get the taxis into town but so worth it if you are going to be drinking, as La Paz does a lot of drunk cop road blocks going and coming from downtown
malecon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when we were there. Really like there downtown area and walking on the malecon. Enjoy the restaurants that
are on the harbor at the end of the malecon in downtown area, they are all good. Great service and great food you can't go wrong with any of them.
Nice atmosphere there at night also.
I plan on going there in April but I want to try a casita or B/B as long as it has two beds due to me and my buddy going there for some friend's

online, but forgotten about). I thank you all for your overwhelming endorsement of this location... and can see online that you're not alone in your
very positive recommendations for this establishment.
Lee, thanks for the suggestion of the Casa Tuscany Inn. I am familiar with a couple of B&B places, including this one, on the bay-side of the
Hotel Lorimar there on Bravo (and the Vista Hermosa Suites across the street). Was it the Casa Tuscany that had another name (and/or owner)
previously? Thank you for the input and again, the suggestion.
BF777(G) - thank you for the further endorsement of the Hotel Marina. Had not heard that prices "can be" negotiable there. $60/night would be an
exceptional deal there. Good stuff!

Wow, $60/night at the Marina? Recently? I need to brush up my negotiating skills. Any tips on how to get that rate? Lately the lowest rate I've gotten
is $77, about $89 with the tax.

We negotiated the Marina Hotel price in late October last year. It seems that it is like everything if you tell them you have gotten an offer in town
for a cheaper amount then you have something to start with. I think it also helped that the manager was there and would rather have a nomad in the

I really liked this place near Marina La Paz, and I negotiated to about $50 a night for a few nights:
There is a new B&B called "Casa de la Paz" on Hidalgo and the Malecon in El Centro. My friend stayed there and loved it. It definitely has an

We've stayed at the Hotel Oasis a couple of times in La Paz. My kids love the pools! I think there are about 3 of them, with bridges, room to dive,
jump, etc., and no rules!
There are peac-cks wandering about, so expect an early wake up call. The price can't be beat, and I think we even stayed in a kitchenette there one

We don't have to have very fancy but at times it is nice to do, however the beds have to at least be not hard as rocks so we can sleep. So many times
we have gotten into hotels or B/B and had beds so hard that rest was impossible. Just as long as the bed is not rock hard then the rest just works
itself out! LOL I got to where we bring an air up matress just in cast, my king size air matress is always a lifesaver when all else fails and the
beds are just not something you can sleep in. When it is late you just take the room and try to work through it and I know most of us have done this
