Does anyone remember this being refered to about a year ago here. I believe its north of La Paz on the Cortez. I would like some info on location and
trip reports. I think there were photos posted.
Thanks

I found it on trip reports to Malarimo, I was hoping it was on the cortez side. It may have been TW report from bikes a year ago, that had pictures

I can think of at least 2 locations I'd call more of mini- Grand Canyons of Baja-excluding anything next to picacho Providencia in the north. They are
pretty breath-taking.....
One is an incredible canyon se of Mulege where you can barely make out the vultures flying way straight-downnnnn below your location in a very deep
canon....this area is accessible only on feet-ie mule or otherwise.
Of course, hitting the edge from R. San Pedro to go DOWN into Canon San Pablo is pretty heart-grabbing the first couple of times you see it.....again,
accessible by feet.

Tom,
you might be talking about Tabor Canyon, accross the highway from the road into Escondido/Tripui.
Has been called little Grand Canyon.
The greater your endurance/climbing skills, the better it gets.

On the recent TV special 'Rip to Cabo' motorcycle run, they describe a "Grand Canyon of Baja", but we can only guess where they were... in the section
between Punta San Carlos and San Ignacio...???
The road out to Malarrimo Beach has been described as going into a "Grand Canyon"... and as noted above, the San Pablo Canyon, seen from Hwy. 1 north
of Vizcaino is pretty grand.
I have seen an aerial shot of the canyon Bucko must be talking about... north of Loreto/ south of Mulege, as well...?

how about the stretch between Loreto climbing your way up to the Magdeliena Plane ....heading south you come across a large valley, then the highway
starts climbing until it looks like a large canyon....maybe??
