I am new to Baja Nomad... And really hope this topic has not been done (though, I could not find it while performing a search). I am in the US and am
trying to get in touch with Hotel Yeneka, in La Paz. I have found a phone number (unfortunately, I do not have long distance on my land-line, or
international calling on my cell phone), but have yet to find a working email address for Hotel Yeneka. Does anyone out there have a current email
address for Hotel Yeneka, or is there some other way (via internet) I can get in touch with them? I will be in La Paz in March and April and really
would like to stay at least one night at Yeneka.
I thought I would pose this question on Baja Nomad, as many of you visit La Paz. Thank you in advance!

I used to bounce around La Paz back in the day,
before internet, just a guidebook to refer to.
I've stayed at a few of the downtown, lets say
non fancy Hotels. As I remember Yenka had some
quirky, lean to it. It appears you are looking for info
for a reservation, personally, I would not be concerned
about a reservation. There are more than a few Hotels
of that price in La Paz, I used to stay at a place called
Hotel Lori, just around the corner form the Los Arcos
Hotel on the Malecon. I would be surprised if any of
those types of small downown Hotels to be full

Normally, I am not one to stress about reservations. However, by the time I arrive in La Paz... I will have been in airports, on planes, and on a
shuttle for around 20 hours. I will either be a zombie, or will be totally wide awake. (Most likely wide awake because I will be back in Baja!)
Either way, I don't think I want to have to worry about finding a place to stay that first night. I want to be able to drop my bag, take in a deep
breath and start the Baja vacation as soon as I get there.
Besides, Yeneka definitely looks like the way to start this Baja

We stayed at Yeneka several times (loved the monkey in the courtyard) but it's been many years. I have a dim recollection that it is no longer there.

there are so many hotels and you will find one to accomodate you on the malecon within minutes ! even in zombie state !

Well, big difference between 7 Crown and Yeneka in price and accommodations. You will not have a problem getting a room at Yeneka at 24 hours, if

Last visit by Yneka, "Pancha" (the monkey) WAS still there....
Although she was rather dried, staring blankly, stuffed, and wearing a silly hat I never saw her wear when I frequented the place in the 80's and she
was still alive....

BTW they seem to frown on photos in their courtyard nowadays... Might be a bit easier if you're a guest and more discreet and ask. Last time in LP, I
just stopped in to say hi, have a cerveza, and reminisce... and I noticed a small sign regarding photos.... So I didn't take any, outta respect to the
owners and my old friend Pancha.

I have never stayed there, but several times I have stopped in just to have a beer and visit with the guests and folks who work there. It is an
interesting, fun, and eclectic group.

As for staying the night, who knows if I will end up staying there... But, I would at least like to drop by and see the place for myself. It looks
fun and interesting. There are definitely some stories to be found at Yeneka.

I travel on a budget, but do like to collect fun stories along the way. This place seems like it has many interesting stories, so why not consider
staying there? I might totally change my mind when I see the place for myself... But, I am willing to keep an open mind until that time.
Besides, Yeneka definitely looks like the way to start this Baja
