Loreto map to print

bcguys - 1-9-2013 at 11:48 AM

Hola
Does anyone have a great link for a decent map of Loreto to print. I want something that has restaurants, grocery, bakery, hotels, bus station and points of interest. Since walking big distances is a problem for me, something that really spells out the different streets would help me. Thanks Janice

Don't we wish. . . .

would be nice to hear if one exists, but I don't think so.
basically we have two main east west roads and some cross streets. one stop light. a bunch of four way stops, watch out...most traffic doesn't stop.
sit down with a local gringo and he/she can sketch you one on a napkin.
where are you staying? folks at hotels and B&Bs will be glad to refer you to places.

can anyone help the lady?

Google Loreto, BCS
There is a decent map with some landmarks....mostly hotels.
Then print it

Best I have been able to do is GOOGLE
"Loreto. B.C.S street map"
Not bad , and you can scroll up and get most locations in town. Hope this helps.

I've made a good .pdf map of La Paz from google maps. Select a map scale that has the detail you want then save lots of overlapping images to your disk. Next use a good photo program to paste the images together on a larger canvas. It is quite easy to line up the images because of the straight streets.

Here is another option: go to www.inegie.org.mx, pull down the 'Geografia' tab, select 'Mapa Digital'. On the next page select 'Mapa Digital de Mexico'. On the next page in the Buscar box, select 'Busqueda Especifica', choose either a calle and a street name, or urbana and a city name. First, you get a list of several options to choose from, select the one you want then you'll get an interactive map that you can print. Unfortunately, if you zoom out too far you lose the street names, but if you zoom in very tight you get actual house numbers. Great for locating addresses.

Just dial "loreto baja" in Google Maps and print. Or any of those maps referenced above. They are all so-so. Or do Google search on "loreto baja map" and set the "images" filter. Almost any map will have hotels. Bus station is only one - at Salvatiera and Juarez. This is a long distance bus, not very frequent, about 5 times a day each direction. Restaurants and groceries... you'll find them. I doubt there is any map that shows groceries except for the biggest and/or most expensive stores.

POI - what POI? :) ... Loreto Mission you will find on any map. There isn't much to see there, really. Like in most Baja towns. It's more the surrounding land and sea that are worth seeing.

On map 1 the ad for Baja Girls Adventures covers the map and can't be closed

"Villas de Loreto" has been closed for 4-5 years.. Not much else to review...
