HOW'S THE IMMIGRATION ISSUE DEVELOPING???

DENNIS - 2-1-2013 at 06:52 PM

Has anyone seen the new documents yet? I'm still waiting....since Dec. 1.

DENNIS - 2-1-2013 at 07:20 PM

Awww....c'mon..........
There must be someone here who's trying to do the right thing.
Anyone??
Did everyone just give up and go get a tourist card?

mulegemichael - 2-1-2013 at 07:47 PM

all i want is 6 months at a time...it's comfy...no problems to speak of...very few fees..no gov't involvement...disappear.

Mulegena - 2-1-2013 at 08:21 PM

I just got my renewal card, finally. I have some personal reasons for playing the immigration game, but I think MulegeMichael has the right idea. KISS it.

Ateo - 2-1-2013 at 09:07 PM

Didn't you hear? The socialist Kenyan born president gave a bunch of Mexicans amnesty!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding.

Hmmmmm. Interested in hearing more about this new immigration issue south of the border.

Go over to the immigration office yourself and check on it. I did my own FM-3.

I won't even ask how you pulled that off since there are no more FM3s.
That's the rumor anyway.

EnsenadaDr - 2-1-2013 at 09:37 PM

There are no FM2's Dennis, not FM3's.....

Leo - 2-2-2013 at 08:02 AM

Darn Dennis, you paid the messenger and still no result after 2 months. I have not heard or seen any "permanentes' issued out of La Paz either. Some people have been finger-printed and then it should take not long any more, but.....
My one is in proces 3 weeks this Tuesday, so I am not counting on anything yet for weeks.

oladulce - 2-2-2013 at 08:10 AM

Not ignoring you DENNIS, it's not our renewal time of year and I don't have any helpful info.

In the meantime you can always rely on the Mexico-rule-of-thumb which works for Gov permits, paperwork, constructions projects etc. The length of time it takes to accomplish something is mysteriously correlated with the peso exchange rate. So if they told you your stuff would be ready in 1 month, you've got about 12.5 months so check back in the middle of next December.

Oh. Is that how it works? Waddo I know?

dtbushpilot - 2-2-2013 at 09:39 AM

Our renewal date for our FM2's was 10 days before implementation of the new rules. At first I was disappointed that I would have to go 1 more year with the old FM2 but it may be a blessing giving them a year to sort through the new rules before my next renewal. It should give my facilitator enough time to figure it out.....

With the new permanent FM2, Immigrante(or whatever they call it now), I heard bad things. To get this Immigrante status you have to prove you have steady income.
Rumor of the day: With this proof of income the Mexican government will start making you pay Mexican Income Tax.
Anybody heard if this is, truth, fiction, fact, could be, possibly, or just BS? :?:

I think that's too ridiculous to even consider.

Had our fingerprints done yesterday. Supposed to pick cards up Wed. Dennis it took us a couple of months to get to our fingerprints but our man told us it would be that so we just waited ,k

Still makes no sense. That makes Mexico an agent for the IRS and I doubt they're interested in being that.

I guess nothing much has changed.

Did they ask for bank statements?

roundtuit - 2-2-2013 at 12:38 PM
