Alfonsina's reservations?

Jaybo - 2-3-2013 at 07:47 PM

We are going to be heading down Mex 5 to stay the night here on the 17th and possibly another night as well. I am assuming reservations are a good idea? I remember reading some comments about "Being there on time" or they would rent your room out.. What time is that anyway?

I just sent an email and found a thread about sending a deposit to hold. so hopefully that works out.

I was looking for their website, I know I have seen it but it is not coming up in my browser history and nothing so far on Google...

a suggestion.........

Down the bay past Rancho Grande is El Sacrificio. It has 6+- casitas, think small mobile homes, which have 4 double beds. Two of us were charged about $65 us. There is a restaurant onsite, we had a very good breakfast there. We went up to Alphonsina's for dinner. We were the only ones there two weeks ago.

It would be a pretty safe bet accomodations would be available there should Alponsina's doesn't pan out.

I have a few photos of El Sacrificio in this thread, just below the Alfonsina's number, from July 4 weekend, 2011: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=58815

Perfect! - Still have not gotten a reply via email, will call if nothing in the next day or so.

I know it's off the grid, but is there wifi there?

Ken, thanks for the info on the casita's!

Don't hold your breath... just go and enjoy... Hope Alfonsina's has a room for you (remember to print a copy of your email)... El Sacrificio was just a bit too weird for us at the time (the girls were freaked out by all the men there, and the shirtless manager), so we went on to Baja Cactus for total luxury and comfort! edm-1 parked his RV there at Sacrificio that night and he and his wife had no issues camping, and Ken didn't seem to have any either...
Maybe the name of the place is not the best??? LOL

We have used Sacrificio twice...once during our disabled explorers excursion to see Coco..3 days of tent camping in relentless wind...Sacrificios "casitas" made a great windbreak...we rented one and they were gracious and let us all camp on the leeward side..ahhhh, relief!! and 2 yrs ago we used it as a late arrival overnight/dinner stop before continuing on to camping at Punta Final
