Max and I finished up with a brochure that promotes the California missions in the three states of California. It took both of us a few days and a few
edits to get it the way we all liked.
CAREM.org promotes the cultural history of the state of Baja California, but they believe all three states share this history and any discussion on
the California missions, should not be limited to political regions created after the missions were built. [Attention California school teachers,...
specially in the 4th grade]
Here it is for your interest, front and back... the actual paper gets folded into three parts, on each side (text is slightly blurry on the computer
here, but not on the actual printed paper ):
If you don't yet have our book, and can't read the missions listed (all 48), here is that list, from our book web site http://oldmissions.com :

Okay, for the interst of the Baja mission fans, I have made the list above to show 27 missions on the Baja peninsula (today's Mexico) in
BOLD text.
This helps illustrate that the missions in Baja were being founded and constructed at the same time as those in Alta California, giving further
evidence that discussion of the California missions should always include those founded south of San Diego, too! The first and last California mission
was on the (Baja) California peninsula...

Have the schools given an explanation for leaving out the Baja and Baja Sur Missions?

Not sure of the official word, but my guess would be that they are funded by California taxpayers, and they only need to teach the history of the U.S.
California that was created in 1848...???
The last mission was founded in 1840... so they all were in Mexican California and originally all in Spanish California... not separated... and not
even separate administrative zones (Baja & Alta) until 1804!
