I was in La Paz a few months ago and the malecon was closed to traffic. We had to route around on side streets. Is it open for thru traffic now?

Difficult to answer other than to say "Usually". Pacenos love a party and they love to party on the malecon. You just never really know when they
will close a portion for an event. From car shows to concerts, there is frequently things going on. The last big one of course was Carnaval.

I was there last Thursday though Saturday, and traffic was going both directions.
Although the local radio stations were warning of extra heavy traffic, because of CARNAVAL parades.

I am down here now and they had a couple of blocks on the east end closed yesterday for a while. Didn't bother to check out what event was going on
but as stated... yes it is normally open. No construction or anything long term
