From GARPA

"The modern 22-lane port of entry into Mexico that opened last year has allowed officials to do a more efficient job of processing vehicles entering the country. That also means that more vehicles than before are being checked as they enter for proper contents and documentation.

It's still much easier and faster than crossing into the United States. But it is more important now for border-crossers to understand the regulations and procedures involved in entering Mexico.

The Baja Image Committee, led by Hugo Torres, and Baja State Tourism, led by Juan Tintos, are working with Mexican Customs to make that easier, both for foreign residents of Baja and its many visitors. You can help in the process.

If you have questions pertaining to Mexican Customs procedures and regulations, please email them to ronraposa@hotmail.com by the end of day on Friday Feb. 22. Questions can deal with anything from allowable food and medicine, to proper paperwork.

Questions will not be answered individually. But they will be used in developing additional materials to help border-crossers be well informed, and assist them in knowing the information resources already available.

In the meantime, information is available at: http://www.aduanas.sat.gob.mx/aduana_mexico/2008/pasajeros/1...
