Trailer hitch - Ensenada/Rosarito

SFandH - 2-24-2013 at 11:17 AM

Hi,

I need to buy and get installed a 2" box hitch receiver on my F-250. Anybody know a place the sells and installs them in Ensenada or Rosarito?

Thanks

VatoZone aka Auto Zone should sell them. any mechanic shop should be able to install it.

Thanks but the ones I've found in the Mex Autozones are max rated at 5000 lbs, 500 lb tongue weight. I need a heftier model.

be aware that there is "engineering" involved when making trailer hitches for "your" car or truck

you should always buy a receiver that is made for your unit
lots are available...

if not done correctly it could rip from your car endangering others

remember too...the ball is your weakest link
a 12k ball is very hard to find here

That's going to be Class IV or greater. Not likely to find that down there.

Why not find a nomad coming down, order one on line and have it sent to them, stateside?

Too bad. I have a Class V, 2 inch hitch for a 2000 F-350 that I'd be willing to sell CHEAP. It might fit. But I'm in Sonora.

U-Haul

Find a full service U-haul store in San Diego or Chula Vista. If they have your specific model in stock, it can be installed in about an hour. Also have them do the trailer wiring at the same time.

before you "jump" into just slapping on a hitch to haul a bigger boat you should consider this

not all f250's are made the same
there are several trans and several engines and several rear ends...

if the truck has no hitch now it probably doesnt have the "tow package" (trans cooler...lower rearend...bigger radiator etc)

i'd have a "trailer professional" look at the entire project BEFORE i spent ANY money
it could become a "money pit"

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
