old mean people

Mulegekay - 2-25-2013 at 01:25 PM

Ending her visit with us, our grand daughter said she has decided that all the old mean people stay home and all the old happy people come to Baja.

I bet that grandparents who live in Baja are much more relaxed and therefore happier. So, your granddaughter should test that hypothesis one day !

If you run into a crotchety senior, just kick their cane out from under them, That'll learn 'em.

First trip to Loreto Baja Sur was 1967 Driving a brand new Cessna 172 I had just purchased for $14,000.
37 years old. Stopped at the little Strip behind the little Motel where I got fuel and a Totuvva Dinner., On to Loreto landing in the little Strip in Town.. Stayed at the Hotel Oasis for $9 a Day with meals.
Found out I needed a TailDragger so bought a Cessna 170B .
Went fishing with Alvarro Murillo in his Wooden Panga. Making a Friend and still good Friends.

bought a Panga from Mac Shoyer in Lapaz in 1073 deeping for 27 years fishing the Great, and still Great Sea of Cortez.
Bought Property North of Town with my Masonic Friend Tio Don O'neil later built Rancho Sonrisa North of Town.
Late 90's the Ugley Americans and Canadians started moving in and then the Loreto Bay Fiasco started and I came back to Texas via Dos Palos Calif for a couple of years.

It is a Good Life!!

My brothers landlord some years back owned a ranch north of town at MP22????? and then about five miles west. Today it has 8 drilled wells on it that provide Loreto with it's water. The landlord said that there is plenty of water for the Loreto area, including Nopolo. I'm guessing the ranch was something like 10k hectors????? But that was maybe 15 or 20 years ago they were drilled on. I think maybe the Cunningham ranch had part of these wells on it. anyone in the area know for sure????/ I think the landlord name was Juan & Nena Drews???????
