I wish I had found this thing two years ago. I couldn't find one in Ensenada or Tijuana, even. Four wheels, has brakes and fold down seat.

I gave my "almost new" USA walker to a Cancer Hospice store in California after I did not need it any more. It sold within minutes. The ones with (8") four wheels are extremely rare down here. Udo, yours will be very much appreciated.

"Canadian Crutches" are also highly prized. They simply are not available south of the border.

Baja just isn't apparatus friendly. Wheelchairs are useless outside the house.

I normally drop them off (whatever I bring) at the Mayor's house near the co-op.

I cant imagine a walker being used in BA, except for around the house.

I took one to New Orleans, recently, for my wife. It was next to useless, even in a city with sidewalks. The sidewalks were just too old and in disrepair for the walker to be practical.

In BA we even have wheelchair access for our sidewalks. :biggrin:



But when the price of metal increased, even wheelchairs were not safe.



A few years ago after knee surgery, we donated some crutches to the clinic, and last year when I injured my knee and could not walk, we borrowed the same crutches back so we could get home ---- they had been stuck back in a warehouse room. We returned them.

Sometimes donated items are not used, and other times, donated items never make it to their intended destination. :saint:

I know I've mentioned this in the past...Pizza Hut in Ensenada....has two wheelchair ramps in front of the building that go right up into the brick wall. It's something about altering the plans that come with a franchise.

Where is the wheelchair going once on the sidewalk? Someone needs to cut the power pole down and trim the bushes.

A Méxicano street wheelchair ramp can easily double as an Olympic grade ski jump.

Damnnit I used a walker AND a Canadian crutch down here for seven months. WITH ONE FREAKIN WORKING ARM!

Bring them. They will work believe me. Maybe not a wheelchair but walkers and canes?

Lift in the center cross bar, move eighteen inches, then repeat. When tired, lean on cross bar with both forearms. I did this with a terribly herniated disc. Wimps need not apply. You're tough Dennis, stuff like this should be a piece of cake. I walkered my way around Todos Santos, San Lucas, Mulege and California for almost a year. No one that I'm aware of issued a guarantee when I was born. Either get-it-done or do without.
