Tourist Card crossing at San Ysidro

With the new vehicle crossing having opened last November, where does one stop to get a tourist card when crossing southbound at San Ysidro?

Is it in the same place after going through the pedestrian gate (on the left where the old vehicle inspection area was)? Or does the Mexican government have a new immigration office and payment window open at the new vehicle inspection area? Am looking for the path of least resistance, i.e. minimal time. I have a SENTRI Card and can walk across a few days prior to heading south to get the Tourist Card.

Thanks.

We parked in the "Something to Declare" lot - stay in the right lane when entering the new inspection area - it is off to your far right. After parking, we walked thru the sliding glass doors on the left side of the building, walked all the way thru the building and then hung a left to the 2nd door on your left which is the visa office. You fill out the paperwork, walk back into the building and down to the bank, pay the fee, walk back to the visa office, and you are off and running.

Thank you for the info. I suspect the old immigration office has closed. Does anyone know if the new immigration office is accessible to pedestrian crossers?

Maybe I'll take a scenic drive on Hwy 94 one hour east to Tecate, park, walk across, get the card there, and drive back to San Diego.

There was a post a few days back, re: the new ped crossing into
Mex at SY, which is now on the no. side of 5, at the end of the SD Trolley
line,as opposed to the original crossing on the so. side, which
apparently is no longer operational, the new ped crossing
is said to have an Imm office, no indication of open hrs.,
or hrs. of bank window
