Here is a video that I put together from our Baja trip last month that shows the painted cave of el Carmen near El Arco and the cave paintings and rock art near Bahia de los Angeles...

Enjoy!

Beautiful Geoff... Viva Baja indeed!

Through awareness comes appreciation
From appreciation comes respect
With respect comes preservation

Unknown and unseen, we would never know what could be lost

Thank you!

Thank you so much! Great video and sound. The art speaks for itself over and over. Very cool that you captured the melding of the rocks contours and the artist's vision.

I would LOVE to share your video on my fb page. You captured the feeling, the colors, the awe factor that one experiences when visiting these magical places. Thank you for posting.

It's very worth sharing... I posted a link to it on Tacoma World. If people are too scared to go to Mexico to see the past, then this is the next best thing to increase awareness and respect for it!

Beautiful! Thank you for posting

Really lovely. Enjoyed the images and soundtrack.

Creative use of a tripod to get up so high? Nicely done. Need to excavate my tripod for next trip.

Very nice. Does anyone know what pigments were used to create the rock paintings?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Feel free to share the video wherever you would like! It was pretty magical being there and wondering about how these paintings came to be so many years ago.

The video was shot with GoPro camera that was mounted on a telescoping pole
(see gopole.com). I had initially bought the pole to try and get some underwater footage of the whales, but it was too choppy the day we went out whale watching. Turns out that the pole was perfect for getting the camera up near the roof of the cave...particularly at the el Carmen site!
